Accounting Analyst – Energy Trading Firm
(Long-Term Contract role)

Core Accountabilities:
- Review daily bank statements and record daily cash activity in the accounting system.
- Process all overhead accounting invoices and employee expenses in the accounting system.
- Set up weekly payments for all overhead invoices and employee expenses.
- Set up new vendors, maintain W-9 file, and process annual 1099’s.
- Prepare daily journal entries and monthly G&A accruals.
- Perform monthly G&A analysis to review budget vs actuals.
- Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedule and post monthly depreciation.
- Assist with intercompany reconciliations.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
Professional Characteristics/Requirements:
- Must be tech savvy with the ability to utilize tools (i.e. PowerBI, Python, Intermediate-Advanced Excel skills preferred (pivot tables, v-lookups, macros, etc.) to work with accounting data sets and streamline or automate processes.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment, adapt to frequently changing demands and requests, and be detail-oriented.
- Ability to grow with the dynamics of the business.
- Interfaces with commercial personnel in a commodities trading organization, support teams across various functions and senior leadership. Must be diplomatic and a team player.
- Must have a solid foundation in fundamental accounting skills including having worked with the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
- Must be experienced in performing account reconciliations.
- Requires a diligent professional with a commitment to meet all deadlines and perform duties in a timely and accurate manner.
- Characteristics must include a professional who is proactive and a critical thinker who can identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
- Peak operating periods during close or during other initiatives may require the incumbent to work overtime.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with 3-5+ years of accounting and reporting experience.
Environment:
- Works and interacts daily with members of the Finance/Accounting team and other members of the organization to accurately record financial information in the accounting ledger.
- Works with three companies: Atlantic Trading & Marketing, Inc. (ATMI), Atlantic Trading & Marketing Financial, Inc. (ATMF), Total Atlantic Trading Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (TATM).
- Business activities include Crude Trading, Products Trading, LPG, Biofuels, and Shipping.
- Fast-paced Trading company environment.
- Activities must be carried out with a sense of urgency.
- Interface with operations and counterparties.
- Multi-task duties and be able to prioritize responsibilities to meet goals and deadlines.
