The Role:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for being a part of and overseeing an accounting team that focuses on completing accounting services for our clients - public and affordable housing organizations. The successful candidate will focus on handling client situations, reviewing auditor reports, overseeing a team of accountants, and other client accounting needs. This role will be servicing a branch of MRI, Lindsey Software. Lindsey is an accounting services division that staffs public and affordable housing accounting experts to handle client accounting needs.
You Will:
- Manage team to align with department Standard Operating Procedures
- Review fiscal year end financial statements and workpapers
- Ensure client work is completed timely – monthly financial statements, budgets, operating subsidy, monthly VMS, MD&A, FDS, etc.
- Communicate timely with clients and co-workers
- Attend industry trade shows periodically
You Have:
- Strong communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills
- 4-10+ years of experience in public housing industry as Director of Finance or CFO or public accounting/auditing experience auditing the public housing industry
- CPA preferred or equivalent experience in Public Housing Industry
- Maintain CPE for CPA license, if applicable
- Tax credit/RAD exposure a plus
- Governmental/grant experience a plus
