What you will be doing as the Billing Specialist:
- Medical, Medicare, and Medicaid billing
- Post payments and EOBs
- Handle Claims
- Work with insurance companies and complete insurance verifications
- Follow up with insurance, payers, and patients
- Navigate payer portals and other software
- Utilize EPIC
- Properly document information
- Address billing concerns in a professional and timely manner
What you will need as the Billing Specialist:
- High School Diploma
- Revenue cycle background
- 1 year of hospital or physician billing experience
- 1 year of EPIC
- Need to understand ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT terminology
- Experience with payer portals
- Attention to detail
- Accuracy is a must
- Ability to think critically- must be able to get ahead of the problem and problem solve
