All about the role:
The NA Last Mile Transportation Senior Financial Analyst position has the overall responsibility and accountability for Builder channel and Direct to Consumer (D2C) transportation. As part of our long-term strategy to grow this area of distribution, the role will be vital in cost modeling and analyzing profitability for distribution expansion. This position is responsible for forecasting and budgeting activities as well as effectively communicating trends and performing business analysis as it relates to Direct to Consumer and Builder transportation costs. Leveraging technical skills, business acumen, and creativity, this position is responsible for business insights, lending to pricing and profitability analysis and recommendations for business decisions. Additional daily tasks will include contributing to month-end close activities and analysis of results, while driving continuous improvement within the Supply Chain Finance team. This role will work closely with the supply chain team, Product Line teams, Commercial Finance as well as our FP&A team to accomplish shared reporting and analysis objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with the Last Mile Transportation team to understand market conditions, inflation, and project pipeline to document and forecast financial risks/opportunities.
- Integrate with the transportation, commercial finance and product line teams to understand their analysis needs, ensuring that our data solutions are an excellent fit to drive profitable business behaviors and decisions.
- Contribute to month-end, forecast, and budgeting activities – focusing on analysis, strategic drivers, assumption validation, and cost expectations.
- Ensure accurate reporting and month-end actuals, working closely with our accounting, reporting, and audit teams.
- Work closely with our transportation team to remain up to date on costs and headwinds, to support pricing decisions, and ensure accuracy of NA results.
- Review and track cost saving projects as they relate to Last Mile transportation.
- Identify cost trends, mix, and financial impacts for analytical support, accurate assumptions and forecast accuracy.
- Prepare supply chain cost analysis and cost modeling in a strategic growth area to highlight key performance metrics and assist in decision making.
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Preferred System utilization: PowerBI, SAP, BPC.
- Preferred track record of change management & process improvement.
- Application of analytical and decision-making skills.
- Capable of managing priorities, meeting pre-determined deadlines and multi-tasking.
- Ability to work effectively in a virtual, traditional, and hybrid environment.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work effectively with cross functional teams and at all levels of management.
- Prior knowledge of working with supply chain/operations preferred.
- Unquestionable business ethics and integrity.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- 5+ years’ experience, ideally within a manufacturing or supply chain area.
- Strong cost analytical skills.
