Senior Accountant
Mason + Rich, CPAs is a progressive, proactive accounting firm that understands the needs of our clients and our staff. We are committed to offering a work environment that provides opportunities for team members to excel and experience professional satisfaction.
We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and a desire to grow.
This position is responsible for applying an accounting education and an interest in information technology to assist with accounting projects that use technology to perform a significant portion of the project.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing various tasks associated with tax return engagements, specifically individual tax and trust tax:
- Utilize various accounting software to pull client information
- Adhere to deadlines and prioritize appropriately
- Help assess and prepare a projection of expected tax liability
- Prepare individual tax returns (1040)
- Prepare trust tax returns (1041)
- Serve as a supervisor to new staff
- Recognize the need for an amended return and assist with preparation as needed
- Assist with client tax notices
- Research new tax situations
- Stay up to date on changing tax laws
- Demonstrate strong communication and organization skills
- Be attentive to detail
- Adapt and embrace new software
- Commute or relocate to Concord, NH
- Other duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
- CPA or EA designation
- Degree in Accounting or relevant experience
- Public accounting experience
- Ability to manage client relationships
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in public accounting
- An interest in applying information technology to an accounting environment
