The Purchasing Analyst will play a key, strategic role in the Purchasing team’s ability to support our fast-paced and growing business. This position requires a detail oriented, organized, and strategic thinking individual who has related experience in purchasing, supply chain, finance, or Operations/Business Management in the food industry.
This is a TEMPORARY need to work November 2024 - April 2025.
It can work a hybrid schedule, but needs to be local to the Des Moines, IA area to work onsite 2-3 days per week.
Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Manage Order Confirmations to ensure accuracy against the PO, including price, quantity, delivery date, etc.
- Immediately communicate discrepancies to appropriate Buyer.
- Release the PO for processing once confirmation is complete.
- Pull Bills of Material (BOM’s) for each projected schedule for kitchen facilities, and provide to appropriate Buyers.
- Create a calendar for dock appointments related to all incoming shipments associated with Purchase Orders and sample requests.
- Communicate effectively across departments to ensure appointments are secured.
- Maintain RMA and all returned merchandise to suppliers for accounting.
- Manage Certificate of Analysis (COA’s), by receiving from vendor and saving appropriately in the system for further review and approval.
- Request & acquire all necessary documentation for new items/ingredients from vendor regarding new item setup.
- Maintain Vendor Master Contact List with applicable information.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in purchasing and/or supply chain within the food industry.
- Proficient with SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), and an ERP system.
- Ability to multitask and have excellent organization skills.
- Team Player; has excellent people skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or other related field.
- Experience with Microsoft AX.
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
