The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the plant management team, responsible for providing financial analysis to support plant and business objectives. This role also plays a crucial part in supporting division manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the plant finance team, providing coaching to support talent management initiatives.
- Oversee the monthly financial close process, analyze actual results, and support the review of financial reports and ledgers. Publish the plant’s periodic financial report.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities, including fixed asset management, inventory valuation, product costing, period reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and overall asset and liability control.
- Prepare the annual budget and business forecasts; analyze and seek approval for capital investments using ROI, IRR, and Payback metrics.
- Proactively identify cost-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop effective solutions to drive problem resolution.
- Maintain internal control systems, ensure compliance with local regulations, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, US GAAP, and corporate accounting policies.
- Play a leadership role in setting and managing the direction of the plant, while also supporting tax and insurance filings.
- Drive process improvements within the finance function by documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and identifying opportunities to reduce complexity.
- Consolidate monthly forecasts and results, providing insightful analysis and reporting.
- Provide support for division-level cash-based costing, ad hoc projects, and AR reviews as needed.
- Complete weekly and monthly consolidated reporting requirements.
- Offer journal entry and reconciliation support for the division.
- Assist with researching and resolving transactional and system-related issues across the division to implement systematic solutions.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge in cost modeling, inventory control and management, capital investment management, and manufacturing variance analysis and reporting.
- In-depth understanding of GAAP, cost modeling, and capital investment management.
- Self-directed with the ability to act objectively and manage ambiguity.
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, embrace change, and provide alternative recommendations to test decisions.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field required.
- MBA/CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or a relevant industry; controller experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and general ledger systems; forecasting tools.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft, SAP, Khalix, and Performance Excellence methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, lean processes) preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $53.86 - $58.86 per hour
