Overview:
The Vice President, Financial & Capital Management is responsible for budgeting and forecasting, management reporting, ad-hoc financial analysis, product and business line profitability, and capital management and stress testing. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this executive will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Leadership Team. They will maintain effective relationships and credibility across the leadership team and with key regulators. The VP, Financial & Capital Management, will help lead the Credit Union through the evolving and complex regulatory landscape as it grows to over $10 billion in total assets.
As a key member of the leadership team, the VP, Financial & Capital Management has oversight for end-to-end strategy and execution of a top-tier FP&A organization.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Lead the cross-functional development of the annual budget including presentation to the executive leadership team.
- Lead the periodic forecasting process.
- Manage the reporting of business unit performance against targets.
- Build and manage the profitability analysis for different financial categories including product, business line, and channel.
- Monitor balance sheet trends and present recommendations optimizing earnings and capital aligned with organization goals.
- Provide analytical support for the development of projects, products and services, strategic initiatives, and other ad hoc situations to enhance organizational decision making.
- Perform scenario analysis using different rate scenarios, volume and credit assumptions and business strategies. Interpret and monitor complex financial model outputs and assumptions.
- Create a disciplined expense culture through active tracking, reporting against budget, creative solutions and constructive challenge.
- Closely monitor peer performance and create value-added insights which influence decision making.
Capital Management
- Lead and manage the completion, execution and delivery of the Capital Planning process including presenting the Capital Plan with supporting analyses to the Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate with the NCUA regarding any regulatory feedback and requests associated with Capital Planning and Stress Testing and data submissions.
- Coordinate with third-party consultants, Credit Risk Management group and the Data Management team on completing the annual capital plan and quarterly data submission.
- Assist with the determination of appropriate capital levels, evaluate decisions about capital actions, and maintain capital contingency plans.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, with a concentration in finance, economics, or accounting. (MBA or related master’s degree desirable, but not required.)
- CFA, or CPA desirable, but not required.
- 10 + years of financial services experience with demonstrated knowledge of associated responsibilities.
- Minimum of 10 years leading and motivating teams, including cross-functional partnering.
- Experience with NCUA/Federal Reserve Bank capital planning and stress testing.
Target Base Pay:
$240,000 - $250,000
