Cost Accounting Analyst

Pay Rate: Up to $40 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Financial accounting, analysis, and reconciliations including income, expenses, capital expenditures, fixed assets, and inventory.
- Prepare accounting entries for fixed asset and in-progress transactions.
- Review and approve monthly and quarterly account reconciliations prepared by the team to lower risk and ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Review and approve medium to high-risk journal entries prepared by the team.
- Prepare, review, and input journal entries for month-end close.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
- Analyze, investigate, and resolve accounting and control issues in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare and analyze financial records and reports.
- Prepare account reconciliations and analysis including cash and bank, intercompany, and general ledger.
- Analyze variances, communicate results, and provide support to operational areas in understanding and managing variances.
- Participate in continuous improvement and champion best practices to improve transactional accuracy.
- Perform SOX controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 1 year of Financial Analysis experience.
- Prefer manufacturing experience.
- Prior knowledge of fixed assets.
- Strong advanced Excel and accounting software skills.
- Prior experience with SAP or another ERP system.
- Excellent communication skills.
