Insurance Manager (Captive Insurance), Guernsey
Aon Insurance Managers in Guernsey is seeking an experienced Insurance Manager to join the growing team.
This is a varied role assuming responsibility for the day-to-day insurance servicing of a portfolio of captive clients. This includes ensuring that office and client business strategies, plans and insurance programme placements are achieved, and that client service excellence is provided. In addition, the role will provide exposure to financial reporting, regulatory compliance, company secretarial and strategic development of client relationships, often dealing with senior management teams of large multinational companies to support them in achieving their risk mitigation and financing strategies.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Guernsey office.
What the day will look like
- Ensure Aon Guernsey and client deadlines in respect of insurance servicing and renewals are met.
- Review of all insurance related matters for client Board/Committee meeting packs.
- Presentation of insurance related matters at Board and Underwriting Committee meetings.
- Drafting and review of meeting minutes.
- Review of contract wordings to ensure insurance programmes are fit for purpose and in compliance with relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Development of excellent working relationships with client contacts.
- Consideration of current and existing client insurance programmes and development thereof. Ensures clients are kept abreast of all relevant information in connection with Aon and the insurance markets worldwide.
- Works closely with Client Services Director/Client Executive and team colleagues on a proactive basis toward achieving both AIM and client goals.
- Acts as a resource for the Company in whatever capacity necessary to ensure consistency of approach and the achievement of budgetary objectives.
- Actively manages the identification and development and ongoing training/education of staff reporting to the Manager and the wider team.
- Completes or assists in completing in any other projects or work as assigned by the management team, delivering to any set timescale agreed.
- Provision &/or review of timely insurance and claims information for finance colleagues in preparation of management accounts.
Skills and experience that will lead to success.
- (A)CII qualification / or equivalent (or working towards) – Essential.
- Have previous general insurance experience and a strong technical knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry – Essential.
- Previous experience within the captive insurance industry is highly desirable.
- Some experience in staff supervision would be beneficial.
- Be focused on client service needs to achieve ‘client service excellence.’
- Be proficient in IT applications and spreadsheet work.
- Be committed to their own continuous personal development and their team colleagues.
