As a systems engineering consultant, you understand the challenges and opportunities in developing large-scale systems of disruptive capability. That knowledge is key when it comes to assisting the Department of Defense (DoD) with strategic consulting on research and development (R&D) to deploy technology beyond laboratory settings. As a systems engineer on our team, you have the chance to shape the development of novel technologies by leveraging your technical expertise to support DARPA decision-makers with the strategic evaluation of new concepts and assessments of technological gaps. You will have the opportunity to work with world-class scientists and engineers to shape national security investment through the development of cutting-edge technologies. You will support our client's mission by providing recommendations on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs through preparing in-depth analyses, conducting background research, traveling to R&D facilities, and interfacing with the R&D community. You will work closely with government clients to track and evaluate the progress of sponsored research and communicate technical findings to a wide audience.

You Have:
5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
5+ years of experience in System Engineering for physical hardware products
3+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
Experience modeling complicated systems, including relationships and dependencies of sub-systems and components
Experience managing the development of large systems involving diverse technical fields
Experience leading teams of 5+ people
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience performing or supporting government-sponsored research activities
Knowledge of electrical, thermal, mechanical, optical noise sources, and error models
Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes and their impact on yield, performance, and reliability
Ability to commute to Arlington, VA
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
TS/SCI clearance
Doctorate degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
