We’re looking for an experienced AP/Hons Commercial Product Manager for College and Career Readiness to join a highly collaborative team dedicated to the prioritization of customer value embedded in the products we build. The AP/Hons Commercial Product Manager is accountable for overseeing a portfolio of products by capitalizing on market opportunities, meeting customer needs, and delivering improved learner outcomes which ultimately drives value for our end users and revenue for Pearson. What you’ll do:
- Be the voice of the customer by identifying market opportunities and pain points to maximize both commercial and learner outcomes.
- Partner with Marketing to ensure go-to-market strategies and annual plans align with business goals.
- Build and manage relationships with leaders in AP courses, advisory boards, and national conferences.
- Drive product launches, educate sales teams, and craft compelling product stories that resonate with the market.
- Lead research to gather market insights and competitive analysis, using data to shape product strategies and future portfolio development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams like Content Production, UX, and Marketing to create innovative products that improve learner outcomes and drive business value.
- Continuously improve product performance post-launch, adapting to market needs and driving better outcomes for both learners and the business.
- Provide cost estimates for and specific financial justifications for product modifications and improvements based on market demand and competitive offerings.
About you:
- Degree (or equivalent preferred).
- Deep product management experience for secondary (K-12) instructional materials, including managing digital products.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%).
- Good understanding of K-12 education, specifically AP/Honors, Dual Enrolment and Career and College Readiness programs, with some experience in higher education, and learning from a consumer viewpoint: ability to translate the winning product management strategies into actionable plans and products that drive value for customers and learners.
- Great insight into the needs of different education and adjacent markets and the opportunities within them, capability to build execution around product strategies that serve both higher education and secondary school markets at once.
- You are passionate about applying the principles of design thinking and bring empathy, curiosity, and collaboration as you explore innovative ideas.
- Competence to balance strategic thinking with a focus on operational delivery.
- Ability to tell a story using data and customer feedback to champion the problems to solve.
- Focus on building an inclusive culture and empowering cross-functional teams to add up to more than the sum of their parts.
About your compensation:
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
Full-time, base annual salary is $125,000 - $145,000.
