Position Details:
- Location: 761 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA, 01701
- Department: Pediatrics
- Schedule: Full time, 38.75 hours/weekly, Monday through Friday, hours between the hours of 8:00AM – 5:30PM
Responsible for the effective delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to standards of nursing practice. Provides appropriate care to patients ranging within the ages of infants to adolescents. Provides pre-visit and post-visit telephonic support and patient education, populating the Electronic Medical Record with historical information, lab findings, and preliminary orders to be reviewed by the physician at the next clinic visit. Ad hoc visits to the clinical sites will also be scheduled to enhance coordination of team-based care.
This position performs a full range of medical support services while ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Effective delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to standards of nursing practice
- Collecting required information from patients to efficiently triage patients based on illness acuity and office processes
- Providing medical advice to patients who have acute/chronic health conditions as directed by the provider
- Provide patient education regarding illnesses/diagnoses, symptom management, medications, and treatment plans
- Assist care teams with telephone encounters and return calls to patients
- Transfer calls to appropriate staff/care teams
- Assist with medication prior authorizations and medication refills
- Administering nebulizers, medications and vaccines according to the childhood immunization table
- Documents encounter and decision making in EMR in a concise and accurate manner, utilizing the patient's own words as appropriate
- Listens, communicates, and documents simultaneously and navigates computer programs to assess, process, educate and document all information in a professional manner

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Currently licensed as a RN in the State of Massachusetts
- Proven knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire
- 1+ years of RN experience
- Phone triage experience
- Experience with EMR systems (EPIC)
- Pediatric experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish and/or English/Portuguese
New York Residents Only : The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
