Your Role on the Team
The position of Nurse Practitioner II in the Department of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology Division, requires a highly competent, independent yet team-oriented individual who will be a critical part of the team caring for patients.
This position will support the Laguna Hills Infusion Center at UCI Health - Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center in Laguna Hills. Under the supervision of Medical Director(s) and the Nurse Practitioner Supervisor, the Nurse Practitioner will participate in the comprehensive care of patients in the ambulatory setting and provide multi-disciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.
This position may perform functions appropriate to their 'scope of practice' which includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures per their approved standardized procedure.

Required:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the program and UCI Health System.
- Ability to exercise diplomacy and flexibility in interacting with physicians, nurses, other paramedical personnel, and administrators.
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Current BLS certification and ACLS certification.
- Hematology/Oncology Experience (at least 2 or more years).
Preferred:
- Infusion Center Experience
- Experience caring for patients enrolled in clinical trials.
Special Conditions:
- Ability to obtain UCIMC Allied Health Professional Privileges prior to hire.
- May require weekend and/or holiday shifts, depending on patient care and operational needs.
