WORK SCHEDULE:
- 100% FTE, Full-time, 40-hours-per-week
- Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00am – 5:30pm, with rotating day off
- On-Call Shifts after regular department hours according to a monthly schedule.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Montlake provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services. Our services include general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs and leads Advanced Cardiac Technologist (ADV CVT) staff in the Cath Lab
- Maintains quality control of ADV CVT functions within the Cath Lab
- Assists physicians with complex cardiovascular procedures, including ones in the clinical research phase
- Conducts a variety of technical procedures in a catheterization laboratory and assists with and monitors invasive procedures and studies
- Assigns and checks work, organizes schedules, precepts, supports and mentors technologists in the Cath Lab, and collaborates as a resource to the EP Lead technologist
- Oversees the technical operation(s) of the cardiac catheterization laboratory
- Participates in hiring processes and provides feedback regarding employees’ performance
- Assists Nurse Manager and RN3 with facilitating staff needs at the clinical level, including assessments, re-enforcement, and following up as needed
- Performs audits and reviews of in-lab processes, including supplies, equipment and staff
- Initiates program specific and data driven projects with a hands-on clinical presence to assess, motivate, coach and mentor staff on a daily, ongoing basis
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) Program AND registration by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS) AND two years of experience as a Cardiac Technologist or equivalent positions AND certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within four months from date of hire
- OR
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program AND Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) AND two years of experience as a Cardiac Technologist or equivalent positions AND certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within four months from date of hire
