ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receives and reviews request for radiologic study.
- Reads request to assess technical needs.
- Determines where and by whom the exam can be done.
- Brings patient to room and puts patient in proper position for radiographic exams.
- Under the supervision of a licensed radiologic technologist, assists in all aspects of the radiographic exam.
- Cleans x-ray room after every patient.
- Assists in transporting, transferring and immobilization of patients.
- Transports patients within the department and to emergency room.
- Transfers patients to and from exam tables as requested by technologists.
- Secures and acquires supplies as needed.
- Acquires out of stock items from stores when needed.
- Assists with dressing and undressing of patients.
- Safety Awareness - Fosters a 'Culture of Safety' through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment.
- Prior to start of any exam, a final verification to confirm the correct patient, exam, site and information is done.
- Verifies patient according to policy prior to administration of care.
- Complies with current CDC hand hygiene guidelines through proper handwashing, as observed by Radiologic Technologist.
- Makes appropriate use of personal protective equipment at all times.
- Adheres to respiratory etiquette guidelines.
- Adheres to universal precautions.
- Appropriately disposes of hazardous materials.
- Adheres to electrical safety guidelines.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education - Preferred
- High school graduate.
- Enrolled in an accredited radiology program.
- Two courses of college level anatomy & physiology.
Minimum Work Experience
Actively enrolled in an approved radiology school with the required clinical time of same.
