- Rome’s historical markers help document the city’s history and gives insight into the culturally rich heritage.
- Population: 36,332 (2019 census)
- Developed a regional center for the fields of medical care and education.
- In addition to its public-school system, it has several private schools. Higher-level educational institutions include private Berry College and Shorter University, and the public Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Georgia Highlands College.
- Largest city near the center of the triangular area defined by the Interstate highways between Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, and Chattanooga, TN.
The role you’ll contribute:
Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities:
Consistently demonstrates through behavior the AdventHealth Pillars. Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics, the ANA Scope and Standard for Nursing Practice, the State of Georgia Practice Act, and the AONE Nurse Executive Competencies.
- Human Resource Management: Monitors performance of the staff and takes corrective action for improvement as appropriate. Uses independent judgment to:
- Select applicants for interview and hire, ensuring appropriate orientation.
- In collaboration with Human Resources Department, suspend or invoke other discipline for work infractions, performance deficiencies, and conduct violations.
- Evaluate supervised employees, recommend promotions, bonuses, and other discretionary rewards.
- In collaboration with Human Resources and Director of Surgical Services, terminate supervised employees where appropriate.
- Assign employees to duties or activities and authorize overtime as appropriate.
- Adjust/resolve complaints and concerns of supervised employees regarding work assignments and scheduling.
- Ensure diversity of staff is positively fostered in the work environment.
Financial Management: Understands health care economics, public policy, and finance as it pertains to the delivery of patient care.
Performance Improvement: Demonstrates familiarity with the performance improvement model of the organization.
Critical Thinking/Technology: Utilizes critical-thinking skills in the performance of their duties.
Leadership and Clinical Practice Knowledge: Provides leadership for the effective and efficient operation of the Operating Room.
Communication and Relationship Building: Utilizes relationships in influencing behaviors on the unit.
Professionalism: Demonstrates a professional persona in their work.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Demonstrates Human Resource Management competencies.
- Demonstrates Financial Management competencies.
- Demonstrates the ability to implement and lead Performance Improvement initiatives on assigned unit.
- Demonstrates the ability to Think Critically and Utilize Technology in relation to the operations of the unit and delivery of patient care.
- Demonstrates Leadership and Clinical Practice Knowledge.
- Demonstrates good Communication and Relationship Building skills.
- Acts as a role model for Professionalism within the organization.
- Demonstrates clinical mastery within the OR suite.
- Current BLS or obtain BLS upon completion of orientation.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required at time of hire or enrollment in BSN program within 1 year of hire.
Education & Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) highly preferred.
- Professional certification from a national organization.
- Prior management experience.
- 5 years of OR experience.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
- Current registration with the Georgia State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse.
