Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist, by performing the following duties.
ResponsibilitiesThe Journeys and Adventures that Await
- Operate C-Arm in a sterile environment in the operating room at a multi-specialty ASC.
- Follow instructions from Physicians intraoperatively regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging in the Operating Room
- Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position
- Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure to the patient, staff, and themselves.
- Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding.
- Order and Upload imaging via EMR and PACS
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum view of specific areas of body requested by physician.
- Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Moves x-ray equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
- Obtain patient’s pertinent history.
- Maintain OSHA regulations.
- Performs other projects and duties as related to department objective.
- Must be able to get along with others, to be a team player, to accept constructive criticism from your supervisor and be able to follow work rules.
- Reports to OR Supervisor or Charge RN for work assignments.
- Will assist with film quality control.
QualificationsThe Experiences You Bring
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six month to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be AART registered or eligible also IDNS licensed.
- CPR certification
- 6 months-2years related experience
