Wage Range: $48.55 -$78.06 per hour. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, applicableeducation and internal equity.

Job Summary:
Adheres to Hospital’s Policies and Procedures and Philosophy of Care.Consistently exhibits professional conduct that is a behavior-based expression of the hospital’s Core Values. Performs MRI examinations at a technical level without requiring constant supervision. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care. Collects and collates all statistical data for MRI. Ensures that regular maintenance is performed on the equipment. Moving, lifting, transporting patients using “Zero Lift” techniques. Uses current EMR system to enter patient charges. Prepares and administers IVs in the correct dilutions, volumes, dosage, and concentrate to perform examinations consistent with exam protocol and or Radiologist directions. Competent with venipuncture. Participates in all quality Improvement programs organized for MRI Services. Provides patient care according to hospital and department standards. Must be able to flex work schedule to meet patient scheduling.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or the equivalent. Requires current Washington State Radiology Technologist (RT) license and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must have ARRT registration in Radiology Technology. Prefer 2 years of experience in MRI.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Requires knowledge of MRI physics, pulse sequences, and ability to apply this knowledge in the operation of MRI equipment. Must also have knowledge of cross-section anatomy and pathology of the brain, spine, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities and ability to apply this knowledge in providing care appropriate to the age and development of the patient. Competent with venipuncture.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Adheres to all State and Federal regulations pertaining to hazardous materials. Works with and around medical imaging equipment including high-strength unshielded magnet. Fluctuating workload. Risk of exposure to communicable diseases and risk of physical injury from lifting, moving, or transferring patients and equipment.
WORK CONTACT GROUP: Patients, Imaging Services staff, clerical support staff, Physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital support staff, and the general public.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to hear instructions from a physician, nurse, or team member. Must be able to hear and monitor alarms over imaging equipment-generated noise without hearing aids or earphones. Must be able to reach and physically move, manipulate, and position without assistance the gantry, scan tables, RF coils, positioning devices, and other accessory apparatus to perform imaging studies within the protocol. Must be able to lift, carry, and file patient folders weighing up to 15lbs.

Essential Functions:
- Produces diagnostic exams consistent with referring physician's request.
- Performs MRI examinations without requiring constant supervision.
- Prepares and administers IV’s in the correct dilutions, volumes, dosage and concentrate to perform examinations consistent with exam protocol and or Radiologist directions. Competent with venipuncture.
- Assists in educating hospital staff in MRI safety.
- Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate actions and initiates life support measures, including CPR, when appropriate.
- Facilitates add-on patient exams, as the urgency of the situation or as the requesting physician requires.
- Demonstrates good critical thinking skills.
- Performs critical quantitative measurement reading alpha and numeric data.
- Complies with protocol for proper operation of equipment and safety standards.
- Assists with ordering and restocking supply inventory necessary for daily operation.
- Monitors patient schedule, screening and prioritizing examination requests as per department standards.
- Maintains knowledge and follows current imaging policies/procedures.
- Completes unit-based competencies per requirements and hospital policy.
- Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
- Participates in all quality Improvement programs organized for MRI Services.
- Provides patient care according to hospital and department standards. (safety, modesty, comfort)
- Assists in revising, creating and reviewing policies and procedures for MRI.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between EvergreenHealth Monroe and United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW), Local 3000.
