Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Unit/Position Summary
Our Emergency Department is a 27-bed unit which includes 5 Chest Pain beds with an RN/Patient ratio of 1:4-6. The patient population includes Emergent/Urgent Adult and Pediatrics with conditions such as stroke, cardiac issues, and sepsis. The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. They plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate an individualized plan of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessments based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions.
- Manage care of patients.
- Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Nursing Degree (BSN preferred).
- Experience: At least 1 year of ED experience preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice.
