Overview
The ambulatory pharmacist works to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services within Huntsville Hospital clinics. Pharmacists will meet with eligible patients during in-clinic appointments to provide education about closed-loop care. The pharmacist is responsible for ensuring enrolled patients are successfully treating their specialty condition to ensure the patients' lives are improved as measured by specific, objective metrics. The pharmacist partners closely with the ambulatory pharmacy technicians to understand patient issues, such as insurance claim results, general counseling needs, and adherence concerns, and assists in resolutions as needed.
Qualifications
Education Required: Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) required
Minimum Experience and Licensure: Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist, and registration must be in good standing. 3-5 years of experience required. Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period.
Additional Skills and Responsibilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Calendar. The ability to self-start a program, execute quickly and accurately without pre-defined processes and protocols, and an interest in defining such processes and protocols for the future. Strong people skills and the ability to work with teams across various clinics and health system partners. The ability to communicate effectively at all levels inside and outside the organization
