OVERVIEW & HIGHLIGHTS
The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as an Specialty Lab Technician III - Fine Arts - Theatre Production Design. The Incumbent operates a variety of equipment including lighting and sound systems, technical theatre applications of computers, and various scene shop tools. Designs lighting and sound for a variety of productions. Sets up lighting and sound equipment for various productions; oversees and participates in the production of scenery properties. Assists in the preparation of departmental season and budget, provides information and recommendations concerning theatre facility operation and upkeep; offers input regarding long-term Department of Theatre objectives. Maintains routine records related to theatre facility equipment, theatre lighting and sound supplies, and lighting and sound expenditures. Knowledge of methods, equipment and materials used in the design and coordination of lighting, sound and related technical elements of theatre productions. Proper set up, integration and function of technical elements of theatre productions. Current lighting and sound technologies, including automated lighting fixtures and computer-based audio systems.

AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION:
Current Vacancy: Cuyamaca College
Type of position: Full-Time - Monday - Friday (may include occasional evenings and weekend hours depending on the performance schedule and the needs of the department)
Anticipated Start Date: November-December 2024
Salary: Range CL-32
$25.41 - $31.79 Hourly
$4,405.00 - $5,510.00 Monthly (based on 40 hours per week)
Initial Salary Placement: New employees start at Step A ($25.41 per hour) or B ($26.88 per hour) on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination equivalent to:
EDUCATION: Two years college-level training with specialized course work in specialized area
EXPERIENCE: Two years of related experience. Work experience in the use of computer hardware and software troubleshooting for area of assignment.

VETERAN'S POINTS:
- Veterans not previously employed by the District, with 30 days or more of service who become eligible for appointment by attaining the passing mark established for the examination, shall be allowed an additional credit of five (5) points and disabled veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of ten (10) points, which shall be added to the percentages attained in the examinations by the veterans.
- Any applicant who claims veteran's credit must submit Form DD 214 at the time the employment application is submitted. Failure to submit Form DD 214 at the time of application shall result in no veteran's credits being considered or added to any passing score.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS:
- The assessment process for this position may include any combination of the following:
- An application screening for initial qualifications
- Supplemental training and experience screening, documentation(s)/ certification(s) screening
- Written examination
- Performance examination
- Oral examination.
- The District reserves the right to utilize a flexible pass point (cut-off) on any test part to meet the staffing needs as determined by the District.
- If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (approximately 3 months) to test again for the same classification during a posted recruitment.
