The Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate a broad spectrum of patients requiring psychiatric care. The Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work autonomously to determine the best plan of care, providing individualized treatment to adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations. The Psychiatric Mental Health NP will coordinate and facilitate ongoing mental health care and services, providing psychopharmacology, patient medication monitoring, behavioral assessments, patient education, and information on community health resources. The PMHNP will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team and Medical Director, ensuring optimal patient care outcomes.
This rural community area is served by a comprehensive healthcare facility that includes a 24-bed Critical Access Hospital, designated as a Trauma Level IV center. The facility is complemented by a Rural Health Clinic with 15 providers and a high-level, 72-bed Advanced Assisted Living Facility.
