Overview
The Charge Nurse is accountable for the patient care delivered during the assigned shift. This position supervises, evaluates and schedules unit personnel on the shift assigned. The Charge Nurse collaborates with the Director to resolve personnel, patient, and unit issues and mentors and develops the unit/shift team.
Special compensation is offered in a flat rate.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing with current Alabama licensure. BSN preferred. BCLS required by the end of the orientation period. ACLS required.
Experience:
Recent hospital RN experience in which leadership, interpersonal, and problem solving qualities have been demonstrated. Knowledgeable of clinical practice of the specialty.
