- Registered Nurses - New Grads to 2 years of experience: $10,000 (full time)
- Registered Nurses with more than 2 years of experience: $20,000 (full time)
Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

NURSE RESIDENCY PROGRAM (NRP):
New graduate RNs and RNs with less than 1 year of experience from date of licensure, accepting a position you are automatically enrolled in our yearlong nurse residency program.
The NRP provides guidance and support to new nurses starting their careers.
Meet monthly to help with the transition of becoming a professional RN for training, continued learning, group exercises and more.
Nursing Float Pool
The Nursing Float Pool is the department for Registered Nurses that are seeking a dynamic position with an exposure to a broad range of patient acuity levels. Nurses joining the Float Pool have the unique opportunity to develop an expertise in multiple settings and refine their core skill set. Nurses in this department are adaptable to different units, including specialties, which supports flexibility, time-management skills, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to float between multiple Medical-Surgical Units, Special Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department, which provides great exposure to specialties while continuing to expand your knowledge and skills
- 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am)
- Elevate your nursing skill set by building a solid foundation then enables you to take your nursing career in any direction with the experience gained working as a Float Nurse
What you can expect:
Providing care and support to patients located on Medical-Surgical, Critical Care and Emergency Care units. Working as a part of the multidisciplinary team, participating in patient rounds, as well as performing and documenting assessments, interventions, education, and care planning. Form professional relationships with the nursing team, as well as the entire healthcare team and leadership teams. The Nursing Float Pool offers candidates the opportunity to grow in a diverse and rapid way. The Float Pool nurses gain a broader scope and knowledge of the hospital. The nurses have the opportunity to form connections with numerous teams, nursing and other disciplines, while maintaining the strong support and connection with the Float Pool team itself.

Position Summary
The health care work force of the future should have the knowledge and skills to provide patient-centered, community-focused, cost-effective, clinically-effective, coordinated care. To do these things successfully, the work force must be competent, flexible, and adaptive to changes in health care delivery and technology. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performance of complex, individualized, family oriented nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures under the direct supervision of a charge/shift leader RN.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: BSN preferred.
- License/Certifications: Current licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing as an R.N. required. BLS and ability to perform CPR required.
- ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one year acute care experience as an R.N. preferred.
