We are seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. Under indirect supervision, the technologist will perform all tasks related to the acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of mammography images. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to patients and ensure the smooth operation of the mammography center while maintaining compliance with safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care and Safety:
- Greet and communicate with patients respectfully and courteously.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Obtain and document patient clinical history relevant to the procedure.
- Monitor patient safety and well-being during exams.
- Mammography Operations:
- Perform diagnostic and screening mammograms, including work-ups for symptomatic patients and additional imaging for abnormal results.
- Assist the radiologist with breast ultrasound exams as needed.
- Manage patient workflows, including starting and ending patient sessions on the computer.
- Present diagnostic/screening cases to the radiologist for review.
- Quality Control & Compliance:
- Perform routine quality control (QC) tests.
- Follow all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of mammography rooms.
- Keep rooms stocked with necessary clinical supplies.
- Complete incident reports as required.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain patient data in the MagView system.
- Receive and unload clinical supplies upon delivery.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Certification: ARRT registration in Mammography and CPR certification required.
- Continuing Education: Must maintain Continuing Education Credits (CECs).
