Infection Control Practitioner

They have an immediate need for an Infection Control Practitioner to work in their world class department.
Responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of the infection prevention program. Uses relevant, evidence-based guidelines and recommendations, epidemiological and implementation science theories in daily work to prevent infections and control outbreaks. Requires strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
Education:
- Associate Degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or other science or healthcare related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Professional licensure/certification in health care discipline as mentioned above in the state of West Virginia or eligible.
- Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (i.e. CIC preferred) or, attainment within 3 years after employment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of data bases experience. (Preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of working in a healthcare setting experience. (Preferred).
- Minimum level of education: Associate. (Required) Bachelor’s preferred.
- Valid Infection Control and Epidemiology license or certification. Preferred or obtained within 3 years of employment.
