Infection Control Practitioner

Beautiful West Virginia Area

They have an immediate need for an Infection Control Practitioner to work in their world-class department.

Responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of the infection prevention program. Uses relevant, evidence-based guidelines and recommendations, epidemiological and implementation science theories in daily work to prevent infections and control outbreaks. Requires strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.

Education:

Associate Degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or other science or healthcare related field.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Licensure & Certifications:

Professional licensure/certification in health care discipline as mentioned above in the state of West Virginia or eligible.
Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (i.e. CIC preferred) or, attainment within 3 years after employment.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of database experience (Preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of working in a healthcare setting experience (Preferred).
Minimum level of education: Associate (Required), Bachelor’s preferred.
Valid Infection Control and Epidemiology license or certification (Preferred or obtained within 3 years of employment).
