Infection Control Practitioner

They have an immediate need for an Infection Control Practitioner to work in their world-class department.
Responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of the infection prevention program. Uses relevant, evidence-based guidelines and recommendations, epidemiological and implementation science theories in daily work to prevent infections and control outbreaks. Requires strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
Education:
- Associate Degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or other science or healthcare related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Professional licensure/certification in health care discipline as mentioned above in the state of West Virginia or eligible.
- Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (i.e. CIC preferred) or, attainment within 3 years after employment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of database experience (Preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of working in a healthcare setting experience (Preferred).
- Minimum level of education: Associate (Required), Bachelor’s preferred.
- Valid Infection Control and Epidemiology license or certification (Preferred or obtained within 3 years of employment).
