The city of Redding in Shasta County (upper northern California) has a unique geography, bounded on three sides by state or national parks (Shasta/Trinity, Whiskeytown, and Lassen National Park). This semi-rural area offers multiple wilderness environments ideally suited for outdoor activities, including rock climbing at Castle Crags and mountain climbing at Mt. Shasta (14,000 ft peak, the second highest in the Cascade mountain chain). White water rafting and fly fishing are readily available on several rivers (Sacramento, Pit, McCloud, and Trinity rivers) and multiple local mountain biking trails.
The Redding VA urgent care is a new facility with very positive reviews from the veterans it serves. Our urgent care has the capability to utilize CT/US and MRI in addition to labs for diagnostic purposes. We have strong relationships with many consultative specialties including ENT, Urology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, and Wound Care locally, as well as access to a full scope of specialties via Mather Hospital Sacramento, located 2 hours south.
This position is ideally suited for an Emergency Medicine physician or an Internal Medicine/Family Medicine physician with substantial Emergency Department experience. If you are interested in giving back to the veteran community here in far-northern California, we would like to talk to you.
