The position handles an annual volume of 49,500 patients or 135 per day, requiring BC/BE in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with an active Louisiana license. Family Medicine-trained physicians need ATLS certification, while EM-trained physicians do not. ACLS and PALS certifications are required for all. The ED has 42 beds and a 22% admission rate, with 10 hours of scribe coverage daily. The department currently uses Meditech but will transition to EPIC in March 2025. Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage are provided.
