Three Bears Alaska is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is an essential member of the Three Bears Alaska accounting team. This role requires exceptional communication, attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task. This position requires both independent and team-oriented work. As a key member of our accounting function, it is imperative that tasks are completed in a timely manner and with minimal supervision. The successful candidate must be able to maintain a high level of accuracy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs general financial accounting and other related duties for the organization
- Assists in maintaining the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliation
- Assists in monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
- Maintains fixed asset schedules
- Monitors daily bank activity and processes bank transactions as needed
- Prepares reports for management as needed
- Assists in the annual financial audit; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
- May prepare and file tax forms with state and local government agencies
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is preferred.
- The successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel and have general computer skills.

Pay Range: Starting at $58,000/annually (DOE)

Working Environment:
Work is performed in a store setting with the ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, frequently lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds below waist, up to 50 pounds at waist/chest and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
