This position will be based out of our Highland branch. Department hours are Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 CST.

Summary: Supports the Lending Officer in the administration of their commercial loan portfolio, while maintaining and developing business in commercial banking. This role will work closely with the lender(s) on prospective and current credits, being able to manage most questions and inquiries when the lender is unavailable. This position is often involved in the initial vetting of credit inquiries that come into the Bank through referral sources, branch personnel, incoming phone calls, etc. The Portfolio Manager will funnel applications to the proper Bank delivery channel/department to enhance the client experience and add value and provide input on both small and large/complex credit relationships.
Essential Duties:
- Assist lender(s) in gathering financial information and other supportive data to assess the viability of new commercial loan requests and renewals. Collect and analyze this information regarding the client's income, assets, investments, or debts: determining which financial products best meet the customer's needs and financial circumstances.
- Develop loan structure for new/renewal requests on behalf of lenders within loan underwriting platform (Credit Quest).
- Manage a loan portfolio of their own to acclimate oneself to the role of primary account officer. Individual loan authority would be associated with this duty. This responsibility will involve independent analysis of credit risk considering lending regulations, cash flow, collateral and overall risk to the Bank.
- Generate new loan and deposit relations by introducing Bank to prospects and cross-selling products.
- Perform site inspections and site inspection reports for Lender.
- Gather on-going required financial information required to maintain credit quality and monitoring of the lender's loan portfolio.
- Assemble complete information for timely preparation of loan packages with particular emphasis on reviewing cash flow, collateral and personal cash flow for accuracy for presentations to the proper Credit/loan committees. Make recommendations related to Risk Rating, structure, and approval in the process.
- Maintain a weekly pipeline of all loans in process.
- Follow-up on loan presentations sent to the Credit Department for analysis and work up for loan committees.
- Review all documentation preparation to ensure that the Bank's collateral positions are safe prior to closing of a new loan or a renewal.
- Prepare Watch List Action Plans and respond to on-going Loan Administration inquiries, including those from third-party reviewers hired by the Bank.
- Monitor interim financial information and borrowing-based certificates, where they apply, to be sure borrowers are tracking according to their respective budgets or the bank's expectations, including covenant requirements.
- Monitor loan portfolio for delinquent loans, credit deterioration and documentation deficiencies, keeping files updated with appropriate memorandums.
- Assist with non-complex loan closings when a third-party agent is not involved as well as renewals. Become a student of more complicated loan closings to support Lending Officer(s) in the process.
- Provide guidance to the Administrative Assistant on matters of complexity related to loan requests and inquiries.
- Make joint sales calls with lender(s). In that regard, assist in the preparation of presentation materials and research appropriate for the calls. Advise the customer about the advantages and disadvantages of different financial products; and market and promote Centier's financial products.
- Participate in Workshops, seminars, and training as appropriate or required.
- Be an ambassador for Centier representing the Bank in community activities including business, charitable, civic, and social.
- Will use knowledge, experience, and independent judgment to review client financial information and decide what information to include in analysis. The analysis will be used to approve/deny loans and help prevent future loan loss.
- Gain a strong understanding of Credit Quest and the proper and effective use of the software in facilitating loan approvals, modifications, etc.
- Look to serve in a volunteer or board role outside of the Bank to further the mission of the Bank and to gain additional experience/exposure in the local community.
Duties Particular to Training for Originating Officer Positions:
- Learn benefits and features of the Centier deposit product line.
- Learn benefits and features of Centier Cash Management services.
- Learn benefits and features of Centier Wealth Management services.
- Learn benefits and features of Center retail products line.
- Use Word, Excel, Smartsheet, effectively to facilitate reporting and monitoring of data and use programs to construct said reports in the direction of bank management.
- Participate in the Lending Officer's formation of a business development referral network by calling on Centers of Influence within the Communities served.
- Participate in networking events within the community to assist in development of new business opportunities, develop referral sources and maintain on-going knowledge of business opportunities and initiatives within the community.
- Attend seminars and workshops where appropriate.
- Attend and assist with loan closings at outside title insurers on behalf of the loan officer and the Bank.
- Complete site visits on behalf of the Bank gathering the data and information necessary to assist in the construction loan process.
- Participate in financial counseling with the Lending Officer while delivering World-Class Service Experiences to prospective and existing clients.
- In time, begin an individual business development process for new relationships, and cross-selling bank products to existing clients, under close guidance and council from Lending Officer.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A college degree in a business-related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of business lending, risk management, and/or credit experience required.
- Must possess working knowledge of sales/underwriting principles for moderately complex Commercial and Industrial Loans or Commercial Real Estate Loans as well as some forms of specialty lending such as hospitality lending, multi-family lending, senior housing lending, land development, bond and tax-exempt financing, SBA lending.
