Accountant Associate

Compensation: $50,000 to $60,000 per year, to be determined at the time of interview with our client.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
- Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
- Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintain the general ledger.
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
- Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
- Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.
- Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Highly proficient with accounting software.
- 3-5 years of Mid-Advanced level of proficiency with Quickbooks desktop, Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
- 3-5 years of Mid-Advanced level of proficiency with Business Central.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- Three to four years of junior accounting experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Subject to environmental conditions - protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
- Subject to loud constant noise.
