Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to assess their insurance needs, financial goals, and risk tolerance. Gather information on their current financial situation and coverage. Analyze clients' risks and evaluate existing policies for gaps or areas of improvement.
- Recommend appropriate insurance products from New York Life’s portfolio that match their goals. Present policy options, explaining features, benefits, and exclusions to help clients make informed decisions.
- Facilitate the application and underwriting process by collecting necessary details, completing paperwork, and coordinating with the underwriting team for seamless policy issuance.
- Maintain strong client relationships by conducting regular policy reviews and providing ongoing support, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Proactively seek new clients through networking, community involvement, and lead generation. Present New York Life’s offerings to prospective clients to grow the business.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, ethical standards, and company policies, making sure clients' insurance programs adhere to legal requirements.
- Collaborate with New York Life team members, including underwriters and financial advisors, to provide clients with comprehensive financial solutions, sharing knowledge to improve service quality.
Qualifications:
- A solid understanding of various insurance products, coverages, and industry practices is essential. Knowledge of life insurance, annuities, retirement planning, and investment products is highly valued.
- Licensing is not required upfront, as New York Life sponsors employees’ licenses to sell and service insurance products in line with state regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for building client relationships and explaining complex insurance concepts. Sales experience and a client-focused approach are a strong advantage.
- The ability to assess client needs, evaluate risks, and analyze policies to provide appropriate recommendations is key. Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills are important for success in this role.
- A commitment to ethical standards and compliance with industry regulations is required, including maintaining client confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.
- Proven ability to build and sustain strong client relationships. Excellent customer service skills—such as active listening, empathy, and responsiveness—are vital for client retention and referrals.
- A collaborative mindset is essential for working effectively within a team and cooperating with colleagues, underwriters, and other stakeholders to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
