What you'll do:
Our technology has life-changing impact on people with communication and mobility challenges by giving them a voice. Our Funding Team helps to make that impact possible by navigating the complex legal landscape of healthcare financing.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Financial Funding Consultant serves as an in-house expert to the Prior Authorization team on the intake, submission, and follow-up of new product, repair, and rental orders. Performs role of the Funding Consultant while focusing on post funding claims cases, reimbursement issues or supporting financial processes, such as waiting copay and letters of agreement with insurance providers. This position is measured on waiting copay cases that close/resolve, LOA/SCA and claims resolutions to support reimbursement, lowering write offs and increasing clean claims.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review Prior authorization documents to ensure compliance with third party payer criteria.
- Perform the role of a Funding Consultant when applicable, while serving as a coach to the team.
- Serve as an in-house expert or second level review consultant on Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payer requirements.
- In collaboration with the Manager Order Management & Prior Authorization, discuss copay options with families, negotiate letters of agreement and help to solve post funding claims issues.
- Discuss financial information over the phone/email with families.
- Discuss and negotiate rates for letters of agreement, following our policies and procedures.
- Assist in resolving claims challenges and identify process improvement areas between funding and billing/collections teams.
- Assist in other areas of the pipeline, with the possibility of working a caseload if necessary or needed.
- Document all correspondence with the patient/family, doctor office, insurance company, recommender in the patients account utilizing the appropriate standard note format.
- Comply with all applicable Tobii Dynavox policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward all TD customers at all times including insurance representatives, patients and health care professionals.
- Participate in educational training on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge and competency in the insurances, finances and policies processed by the company.
- Perform various other tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor Degree, or 2 - 4 years related health care experience.
- 5 years of customer service/ third party payer experience.
- Knowledge of reimbursement and claims within our national coverage.
- Ability to independently manage work, prioritize and communicate with multiple departments within Tobii Dynavox.
