Job Description:
This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.
Compensation Consultant - AAA/The Auto Club Group
What you will do:
Reports to: Director & above
Provide advice and guidance on compensation practices across the organization. This individual will work with HR business partners, department heads, and leadership to ensure that the company's compensation programs support its business objectives, remain competitive, and comply with legal standards. Function as a subject matter expert on compensation trends, best practices, and regulatory changes. Evaluate and analyze existing compensation structures, conduct market analysis, support pay equity efforts, and advise on compensation-related decisions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Consult with management to identify and resolve compensation-related issues.
- Perform job evaluations to determine appropriate salary ranges and classifications.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure the organization's pay structures are competitive.
- Analyze compensation data and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Support annual compensation review processes, including salary increases and performance-based pay adjustments.
- In partnership with team, support, maintain, update, and enhance the company's compensation programs.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate and function as project leader to facilitate the completion of projects.
- Participate in/support the development, implementation, and administration of various corporate compensation programs.
- Prepare cost, benefit and breakeven analyses and develop recommendations for management.
- Provide consultation and recommendations to Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and management on compensation-related matters.
- Develop compensation strategies that align with business goals.
- Collaborate with HR teams on projects as needed.
- Prepare compensation reports and presentations.
- Participate in compensation surveys to gather market data and insights.
- Process job, pay, plan and other compensation-related transactions.
- Support special compensation projects such as mergers and acquisitions.
- Maintain an awareness of proposed legislation and compensation trends.

II. Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
Experience:
Five years of compensation experience to include:
- Client consultation.
- Partnerships with internal HR/corporate and external partners.
- Job creations and evaluation.
- Pay grade determination.
- Compensation Survey participation.
- Comprehensive pay analysis.
- Design, implementation and/or administration/support of compensation programs.
- Understanding & interpreting compensation-related regulations.
- Analysis of statistical data and problem solving.
- Development of compensation procedures and guidelines.
Extensive Knowledge of:
- Compensation principles.
- Federal and State guidelines and regulations related to compensation.
- Benchmarking, market analysis and related compensation functions.
- Compensation-related statistical analysis techniques.
Skillset:
- Compensation analytic skills.
- Strong quantitative analysis with precise attention to detail.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Ability to:
- Provide effective feedback and coach/counsel to peers.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Prepare and present proposals and updates to all levels of management.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
III. Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
