Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: Round Rock, TX
Shift: 12-Hour Days, 3 Shifts Per Week (36 Hours)
Shift Times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Hourly Rate: $36.00 - $52.00 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. The Radiation Therapist will operate advanced machines, such as linear accelerators, to deliver concentrated radiation therapy to targeted tumor areas, helping treat patients with cancer. Working under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality care and ensuring patient safety. This is a full-time position, working three 12-hour day shifts per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform radiation therapy procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
- Operate machines, including Truebeam and CT Simulators, to deliver precise radiation treatment
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort
- Adhere to safety standards, infection-control protocols, and radiation policies
- Collaborate with the oncology team to ensure quality patient care
- Assist with scheduling, time management, and staffing in coordination with the Supervisor
- Mentor and train new radiation therapists and students as a Clinical Supervisor
- Participate in departmental huddles, committees, and quality improvement initiatives
- Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Certification: ARRT-T Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-T)
