POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a full-time lead MRI Technologist for management and technical operation of a 3-Tesla Siemens Magnetom Cima.X Magnetic Resonance Scanner to provide quality images of research study participants and MRI recipients for research and clinical diagnostic purposes. The individual must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively to provide specialized skills in the performance of MRI procedures with MRI safety as a priority. They perform scans as directed by the researcher or healthcare partner clinician protocols and have flexibility in scheduling. They work independently and under general supervision of the MRI facility Director and maintain current licensing and certifications. They must interact with a professional demeanor and a caring attitude towards MRI recipients, families and others and perform duties in a calm manner even in stressful situations and ensure professional standards are met while providing excellent care. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively on interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. The ability to establish effective working relationships is crucial in building trust and influence to accomplish work within a setting that includes a wide array of individuals, groups, policies, and processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Qualified as an MRI Technologist (ARRT approved MRI Certification, or ARRT approved MRI Certification within six months of hire for new grads)
- BLS Certification (or within three months of hire for new grads) through American Heart Association
- Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License
- Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program from an AMA approved school
- At least one year training experience with high field magnetic resonance system
- Experience with operating Siemens MRI systems for research and/or clinical applications
- Ability to perform Neuro Studies, MSK Studies, Abdominal Imaging, Pediatric Imaging, Chest Imaging (Non Cardiac)
- Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts as well as coverage for weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in MRI related field preferred
- At least four years of experience in Radiology and two years experience in MRI
- Recent work experience in an acute care setting
- MRSO
- Participation in clinical trials and implementation of MRI biomarkers
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of human anatomy and physiology to accurately position research participants/patients for scans
- Strong knowledge of medical imaging techniques
- Knowledge of structural, diffusion, functional MRI procedures and acquisition protocols
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations based on scan results
Additional Information:
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
