How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:
Director over Hospice within the Carilion Organization. Ability to travel to different Hospice Offices when needed. Company equipment.
- Directs, plans, communicates and evaluates home based care provided in geographic markets. Continuously evaluates effectiveness of clinical/business solutions and strategies and recommends continuation or discontinuation of services in specific markets
- Provides leadership for and monitors operational goals, objectives, patient experience, scorecard and key financial metrics for multiple services.
- Communicates, organizes, prioritizes, leads, facilitates, coaches and problem solves with reporting staff to ensure that goals, objectives, and budgets are met.
- Develops and sustains cohesive, highly functioning leadership to support critical operational and personnel matters and is responsible for developing solutions to maintain positive employee and business relationships. Collaborates with the Vice President to assure that system wide standards of care, service excellence, and goals and objectives are met
- Develops, implements, and monitors the fiscal budget and capital equipment needs to assure the cost effective delivery of care.
- Prioritizes and allocates financial, human, and other department resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
What We Require:
Education: For nursing directors:
Graduate of school of professional nursing.
BSN Required at CMC due to Magnet designation or
MSN preferred
For non-Magnet locations, a Bachelor's degree is required in nursing or in a related field.
For directors of non-nursing areas:
A Bachelor's degree is required in a related field.
Experience: Five years experience in health care management required. Three years Home health and/or hospice experience preferred. Thorough working knowledge of current regulations and accrediting standards for the State of Virginia and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations required. Experience in managing in a competitive environment.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia. Must possess VA Driver's license.
Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Computer skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint required. Demonstrates positive interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, analytical business skills, integrity, innovation, team player, problem solving/conflict resolution skills and customer focused philosophy. Work is performed in an office environment with travel required. Meets physical requirements for essential job functions. Must have a criminal record check showing no convictions of barrier crimes.
