Carilion Clinic has a full time Nurse Practitioner opportunity available at Carilion Family Medicine - Dublin. The NP will assist physicians and other nursing personnel in the delivery of primary health care and patient care. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assess, plan and provide care. Perform patient examinations, compile appropriate patient information and documentation. Review patient reports and make appropriate recommendations and refill medications. Hours are Monday thru Friday- 8:00-5:30. Two years experience required.

As such, PAs and NPs who have worked within Family and Community Medicine, for at least 1 year, will be scheduled to precept PA and NP students from our partnering programs.
The Physician Assistant (PA) demonstrates knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and assesses data reflective of the patient's status. The PA interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and provides care according to departmental policies and procedures.
What We Require:
Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program, including preceptorship required.
Experience: One to three years experience preferred. Additional experience may be required for some specialties.
Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP), DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
Other: Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine. Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic's malpractice insurance carrier. Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
