Job Summary- Performs clinical laboratory tests.
- Assures instrumentation is operating according to industry standards.
- Continually strives to improve processes to achieve accurate test results in a cost effective and efficient manner.
- Occasionally supervises activities of phlebotomists and clerks on specific tasks.
- Occasionally functions as acting supervisor.
- Reports to a Laboratory Manager or Supervisor.
- Receives general supervision from Pathologists, Director, Lead Technologist and Medical Technologists.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree and Medical Technology (MT) certification with American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
- Must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988.
Experience
- At least 1 year of MT background - requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure/Certification
- Registered with ASCP (or eligible for registry) as a Medical Technologist or equivalent.
Compensation/Benefits
- $24.75-$43.71/hr depending on previous experience.
