Department Information
Stamps Health Services is an outpatient ambulatory care center that provides health care and health education to students and their spouses/domestic partners. The center is located in a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot facility within the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, next to our Campus Recreation Center. Stamps Health Services provides care in six areas: Primary care, Women's health, Psychiatry, Travel/Immunization/Allergy, Pharmacy, and Diagnostic Services (lab and radiology). Primary Care Clinic is the largest of the clinics at Stamps Health Services and sees approximately 24,000 visits/year.
Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist role will operate X-Ray equipment to produce routine radiographs of designated portions of the human body. Act as the liaison between radiology/patients/ and other staff. Communicate all problems to the supervisor as needed. This position will supervise: N/A
Responsibilities
- Performs radiographic examinations with minimal supervision.
- Enters and reviews data in the Radiographic Information System (RIS) and Picture Archive Communication (PAC) system.
- Performing equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems.
- Instructing patients in pretest preparation, answering questions, and explaining procedures.
- Cleaning and sterilizing equipment and workspace.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or two years of college coursework. Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
Other Required Qualifications
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE, or PERMITS:
Registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Required Experience
Two years of job related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local standards, regulations, guidelines, and requirements affecting operations of a radiology service.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of routine radiological procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and techniques used in radiology work.
- Must be highly flexible and adaptable to handle various situations.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and interpersonal skills with customer service focus.
- Analytical thinking and communication skills required.
