Job Description
The Licensed QMHP provides an advanced level of leadership in the agency and their work unit and exhibits a high level of clinical leadership and independent practice. Provides an advanced level of mental health treatment in both individual and group settings. Primary duties include crisis intervention, risk assessment, diagnostic impression utilizing the DSM, short-term stabilization services, coordinates discharge planning activities, as well as individual and group therapy. Treatment is provided based upon sound theoretical principles, with knowledge of the special issues and needs of the population served. The incumbent develops treatment strategies to meet the multifaceted needs of a diverse population, with attention to the policies and procedures of the organization, and is expected to interface with both internal and external treatment providers.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree or above in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy or closely related field.
- Missouri Licensed as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Knowledge of psychiatric terminology and the process of psychiatric diagnosis.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the theory and practice of mental health assessment and treatment and have basic research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Must have organizational and leadership skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate good independent judgment, adapt to new duties and work in a changing environment.
- Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment.
- If driving is a requirement for the employee, he/she must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and must continue to meet these requirements as a condition of employment.
