First Resources of Ottumwa is hiring a Director of Mental Health Services to oversee our growing mental health programs in South East Iowa.
Job Summary: Responsible for the coordination, development, and growth of mental health services. This includes programming at the Residential Care Facility (RCF), Drop-In Centers (CHOICES), Integrated Health Home (IHH), and Intensive Residential Services (IRSH). Responsible for analyzing mental health services to include indication of performance needs, implementation of improvement plans, and review of performance targets within each program.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, plus four (4) years of experience working in a mental health system.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Must possess basic knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
- Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions.
- Successfully complete the new hire orientation checklist.
- Must possess basic knowledge of the Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL), HCBS/LTSS programming, IHH SPA requirements, and Iowa Administrative Code rules relating to the positions programming.
- Successfully complete the Department of Human Services medication administration training and pass the competency exam within 90 days of hire, but prior to handling medications of individuals served.
- Successfully complete and pass all required competency-based training requirements within the allowed timeframe and on-going training as due each time.
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the initial 30 days of employment, and actively maintain certification throughout employment.
- Must have valid driver's license and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company's insurance.
- Must have reliable personal transportation.
- Must have access to a telephone.
