The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director, may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit-specific patient population.
This unit is comprised of 32 acute care private rooms with telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry capability to care for post-surgical and medical overflow patients. Each room also has a private family area. Within our fast-paced setting, we utilize an interdisciplinary team approach that includes close collaboration with physical and occupational therapists to elevate the education and care of this population. The unit has a gym for patients to learn the skills needed for a safe discharge. We proudly maintain Joint Commission certification in both Hip and Knee Replacements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one (1) year of nursing experience in area of specialty.
- Associates Degree with three (3) years' clinical experience OR Bachelor's in Nursing with two (2) years' clinical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment.
