Job Summary: The Supervisor-Forensic Interview Specialist-Grant is responsible for supervision of all Forensic Interview staff and student interns. Creates and maintains policies and procedures for Forensic Interviewers. Oversees the Child Protection Team (CPT) and the CPT Coordinator which provides support to hospital social workers and outside investigators regarding cases with suspicion of child abuse. Oversees the Child Life-CAC (CL) program which acclimates victims to the clinical experience of a medical child abuse investigation. Assists with grants as it relates to the FI/CL program and the vision and growth of the investigatory team at LLU. Leads and facilitates monthly case reviews and Multidisciplinary Team meetings, as well as provide appropriate training for the collaborative partners. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Science or related field. Minimum five years experience in forensic interviewing. Experience as a CFIT trainer preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Child Forensic Interview Training Ten-Step Investigative Interview protocol. Knowledge of Child welfare, juvenile and criminal court proceedings, law enforcement policy and protocol, HIPAA, and best practices for consent laws. Evidence-based practice for conducting successful forensic interviews. Able to read, write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access); operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, rules and laws; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: State of California Child Forensic Interview Training (CFIT) certification required.
