Position Summary
City of Hope is a leading research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to find cures, provide personalized treatment, and support patients and their families. The hematology unit provides comprehensive care to patients with hematologic malignancies such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. In addition, the unit also specializes in managing patients undergoing CAR T therapy and those participating in clinical research trials. The unit is equipped to diagnose, treat, and manage various blood-related cancers through a multidisciplinary approach.
The Resource Nurse is a vital part of the healthcare team, dedicated to maintaining continuous and high-quality patient care by providing scheduled breaks and relief coverage for staff nurses. This role ensures that patient care is uninterrupted and that nursing staff can take necessary breaks, maintaining their well-being and productivity. The Resource Nurse will step in to cover various assignments, adapting quickly to different patient care needs and environments. This position requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and patient populations.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Provide relief coverage for meal and rest periods for nursing staff assigned to patient care.
- Ensure adherence to City of Hope's Code of Conduct, Code of Organizational Ethics, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain integrity and confidentiality at all times.
- Uphold the tenets of professional nursing practice, fostering healthy interpersonal relationships.
- Embrace responsibility, authority, and accountability in all nursing activities.

Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- 3-5 years experience
- Current CA RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
