Position Summary
City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (Float) to support our Infusion Clinics in the San Gabriel Valley - Arcadia, Glendale, Glendora, Pasadena, South Pasadena, and West Covina. In this vital role, you will focus on the delivery of chemotherapy and comprehensive care to cancer patients, providing support, education, and a compassionate touch throughout their treatment journey. This opportunity is for full-time, 8-hour shifts, and 5 shifts per week. The clinics are open Monday - Friday from roughly 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus available!
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Assess patients' health status, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based care protocols to ensure the best outcomes.
- Chemotherapy Administration: Administer chemotherapy and other medications to patients according to prescribed treatment regimens, ensuring safe and effective delivery.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and symptoms during infusion treatments, promptly recognizing and responding to any changes or adverse reactions.
- Patient Education and Support: Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families, empowering them to understand their treatment options, side effects, and self-care measures.
- Coordination of Care: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care, follow-up appointments, and supportive services, ensuring a seamless and holistic patient experience.
- Management of Side Effects: Assist patients in managing side effects and complications arising from cancer treatment, offering proactive support and interventions.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- Registered Nurse degree
- 3+ years of experience as an RN
- Current California RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) card through American Heart Association (AHA)
- A valid ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card
