Responsibilities
The Primary Therapist conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, facilitates individual, family, and group therapies, and provides clinical support to the program as needed.
Essential Duties:
- Communicate proactively as the clinical point of contact with families.
- Facilitate individual, family, and group therapies within the framework of Newport Healthcare's clinical model and Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
- Facilitate new Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups.
- Complete risk assessment and initial safety plan upon admission and biopsychosocial assessment and treatment plan within timeline requirements.
- Coordinate treatment goals and services in collaboration with the client's treatment team, with 30-day treatment plan reviews and updates.
- Complete documentation (assessments, treatment plans, progress, group notes, contact notes, and discharge summaries) timely and according to established standards.
- Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide intervention/management as needed.
- Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.
- Enter and save data accurately within Word, Outlook (email and calendaring), EMR, and online learning.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and conferences representing Newport Healthcare as needed.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state-approved graduate school required.
- Board registered (AMFT, APCC, ACSW, LAPC) or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided required. Licensed Preferred.
- Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
- Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.
Salary Range for this position: $63,720 - $87,615 based on education and experience.
