Speech-Language Pathologist - Pediatric (Day Care)
As a Speech-Language Pathologist in a pediatric day care setting, your primary role will be to support children in developing and enhancing their communication abilities. You will engage closely with young patients who face speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Utilizing your expertise and compassion, you will provide meaningful, tailored therapy services aimed at significantly improving each child's life quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and diagnose communication disorders in pediatric patients.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on each patient's specific needs.
- Engage in one-on-one therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
- Regularly monitor and document the patient's progress, making adjustments to the treatment plan as needed.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers about communication enhancement strategies.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records regarding patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist certification.
- Possession of a valid CPR certification from a recognized provider.
- Negative TB skin test and valid driver’s license.
- Proof of auto insurance as required by law.
- Associate degree or graduation from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology assistant program.
- Experience in pediatric care is preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience in a pediatric day care setting or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of the developmental milestones in early childhood concerning speech and language.
- Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
- Proven track record of effective communication and empathy with children and their caregivers.
Skills:
- Exceptional ability to assess and treat speech and language disorders in young children.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, children, and caregivers.
- Proficient in using various assessment tools and technologies relevant to speech-language pathology.
